Domestic Violence Awareness Month

 

Join us throughout October as we stand united against domestic violence and intimate partner abuse.

 

Fort Buchanan’s Army Community Service (ACS) invites the community to participate in a series of impactful, family-focused events promoting healing, safety, and support.

Featured Events Include:

  1. Stress Management Room (Available Oct. 1–30 at ACS, BLDG. 225): A calm space for Active Duty, AGR personnel, and their families to relax and recharge. Reserve at 787-707-3804 / 3292.

  2. Wear Purple Fridays (Every Friday in October): Show your support for survivors by wearing purple. Send your photos to ACS Family Advocacy.

  3. Domestic Violence Awareness Proclamation Signing (Wed., Oct. 1 at 11:30 AM, AAFES): Join us as we raise our voices and awareness.

  4. Seeds of Hope – Family Well-Being Garden (Fri., Oct. 10 at BLDG. 1000): Help us grow a space of healing, unity, and strength.

  5. 5K Walk/Run: United Against Domestic Violence (Sat., Oct. 18 at 7:00 AM, Cabaña Picnic Area): Walk or run to support survivors and raise awareness. Register by Oct. 16 at 787-707-3365 / 3804 / 3292.

  6. Purple Carpet Pets’ Costume Parade (Fri., Oct. 24 at 6:30 PM, Community Club, BLDG. 660): A fun, meaningful event supporting awareness of pet abuse in domestic violence situations.
