Support your child’s learning journey with our Early Learning Discovery Kits—hands-on educational kits designed for children ages 3–8. These kits are available for checkout at the Fort Buchanan Post Library and are meant to be enjoyed at home, encouraging families to learn, play, and grow together.
Each kit focuses on key early childhood development areas such as early literacy, math, STEM, creativity, and social-emotional learning. Kits include engaging activities and curated book recommendations to extend learning beyond playtime.
Learning Through Play
Our kits are designed to make learning fun and meaningful. Children can explore numbers, letters, rhymes, emotions, science, coding basics, and problem-solving through age-appropriate, hands-on activities that promote curiosity, confidence, and critical thinking.
Kits by Age Group
Ages 3+
Designed to build foundational skills through play, including early literacy, vocabulary, counting, fine motor development, creativity, and emotional awareness.
Ages 5+
Introduces more advanced concepts such as phonics, STEM exploration, simple engineering, coding fundamentals, time concepts, and math skills.
Ages 6–7+
Focuses on higher-level thinking skills, including geometry, spatial awareness, and science exploration through hands-on discovery.
Each kit clearly lists the recommended age range to help families choose the best option for their child.
Kits List and Book Recommendations
Support for Military Families
Select kits, including the Sesame Street: Talk, Listen, Connect series, are designed to help children understand and cope with military life experiences such as deployments, homecomings, transitions, and everyday challenges. These kits support communication, emotional resilience, and family connection.
